Richm i read your review on jimmy's cd and you nailed it. yes this the most melodic guitar and composistions i have heard in a long time.
the melodic phrasing and tone is so good that you have to ask, how does he do it.
he talks of chord scales in a interview on his my space page and now im using them and they have opened the door for me. Jimmy is not only a great player but a real smart musician. this is one cd you have to have. its hard to get this one out of the cd player.
take care gill |

There are Rock guitarists who move into the jazz world and you can tell they are limited... and then there are Jazz guitarists who can't capture the fire/funk of a rocker .......and then there's Jimmy. He does it all.
If you don't have this album - get it. You won't be sorry. |

What you all said! I agree. There are some tunes on here that are unprecedented in harmony or whatever. Very fresh. He is smoking in Widespread Panic, but does anyone know if he's doing any other gigs on the side (i.e., ARU, etc.) . Haven't heard of anything at all. |

I think there might be discussions about pulling a band together in support of the album. The Wakrusa (sp?) lineup has "Jimmy Herring Band" as one of the bands. _________________

Getting ready to read your review , right now. But I have listened to the CD once myself. Whew! Noce stuff.
I heard traces of Morse/Dregs, Steely Dan, and even some classic 70s style Shredding Rock!
Dig it. |

When I first met Jimmy, he was copping Steve Morse note-for-note! I was stunned. |
