I'm really sad about this - Kerry was one of the nicest people I know, and he was a real music fan. He was friends with all his clients and valued their input on his work, and nobody did such high qua ...

That's a great quote from an even greater guitar player. I've heard bootleg tapes of him playing at Hollywood High School, way before he was doing the two hand technique, and even though he was amazin ...

Thanks, at the time I thought the Studio preamp and 290 power amp sounded pretty good. The reason for this type of gear was, back then everyone wanted to play in stereo, using stereo delay, chorus, re ...

I don't want to sound rude, but for me this was the worst tone I ever had on a Tribal Tech album. The amp was a Boogie Studio Preamp with a 290 power amp, but that wasn't the problem. We call that alb ...

As far as new composers, sorry I have no idea. From what I've been hearing from the new generation of jazz musicians, I'd have to say that composing isn't a priority. That's understandable, considerin ...

That's actually a teaching question so I can't do that for free, but I will say that any kind of music can be simplified as chords and melody, written out like a Real Book tune. Of course the counterp ...

We were in the same room - working on it at home doesn't mean solos and other things were replaced. A big part of making a this type of record is not ever erasing anything involving interplay. All rhy ...

I'd forgotten which album that song is on - if it's Reality check, it was the Lee Jackson preamp, and I borrowed Allan's "Harness" for that record because I did a lot of the tracks at home. ...

I'm sorry, I don't understand the purpose of this program. Is the technology used to create music, or to analyze music and write charts? I'm not interested in mathematically creating music, but I'm ve ...

That was probably during the "rack" days, so I'd guess a Boogie preamp and 290 power amp, though for awhile I was using a Lee Jackson preamp. All I know is that there were no real amps invol ...

The OD9 cleans up much better than the SD9 since it has less gain in the first place. I don't look at the SD9 as pedal that cleans up very well - I'm used to the RC Booster, which cleans up amazingly ...

I just bought two European power supplies for the SE-70. Before that I was using a 220 to 120 transformer provided by the venue. These transformers are bigger than a transformer in a hotel bathroom - ...

I haven't heard him in a long time but I remember liking his playing. I'll check him out some more. I just saw a YouTube video of Jerry Donahue that I really liked - so many great players out there!
