Without question, a new Tribal Tech recording would be great. In my opinion there is no other group out there that rivals this band! The combo of Henderson and Willis together is a beautiful thing to hear. Either studio or live, a new cd would be appreciated. |

2 years ago, before Well to The Bone, I would have said a Tribal Tech one, but I would say without hesitation a Blues Trio record, why not live ,and even better available on DVD too. My second favorite would be a VTT3, then a Tribal Tech album, even if I am an absolute fan of their work. |

I seriously am not trying to make anyone mad here...but I hope Scott doesn't make another blues CD. I want Tribal Tech or Vital Tech Tones...and enough with the Landau and Jeff Beck guitar playing too....I want to hear SCott be Scott and do (what I think) he does best...and that's fusion.....I've always wanted to hear him record a full band version of Ana Maria. This will probably NEVER happen, but I've always wanted to hear Scott do a "wayne shorter tribute" CD (for lack of a better phrase), doing fusion (tribal tech) versions of his fav Shorter tunes. I have compiled from various sources places where Scott's played Wayne...and other standards and I find myself listening to that as much as I listen to Tribal Tech.....Just my two cents..
A guy can dream can't he?? hehe

MARCUS MILLER (Or Anthony Jackson!!!)
SCOTT KINSEY (sorry Tom, but Coster sounds like A$$ to me.)
JOSHUA REDMAN (There is a story that went around about how Redman dissed Hendy and Willis. If true, I would imagine that Redman is not high on Hendy's list) Sub here is Brecker or Garrett.

I'll be selfish and say I'd like to hear another TT record written in the same vein as the early efforts (w/ a lot of intricate compositions) but I don't know if Scott has any interest in doing this sort of thing again, having "been there and done that."
I'm sure I'll be happy with whatever project Scott chooses to do next as an artist's interest and enthusiasm for a given project is, in large part, usually what makes that project enjoyable for the listener. |

Wow,as much as I'd be glad to hear anything new from Scott I really think it's high time for a new, fresh Tribal Tech record. Also, the idea of him leading another fusion supergroup as the above mentioned ones(without Coster, though )is also great.still,my vote goes for a new TT record.

I respect Scott's blues playing, hes taken the style further than anyone, though Robben Ford writes some great tunes. Scotts for sure added something big for blues inovation in general. But really I want to hear him in a fusion context, I don't care what context....though I don't feel hes gone anywhere as far as Holdsworth as gone (who has), however Scott supplys a jazz fusion style that Allan does not! Of course there're both different players, but the best 2 players on the planet...IMO! Pleaze Scott more fusion, Tribal Tech or team up with Victor and Steve again! |

As much as I would LOVE to hear some new Tribal Tech, I read in an interview from a few years ago where the magazine asked Scott if he would ever do a more jazz-oriented album. He said that if he did, it would be all his own tunes, because even though he practices standards, he doesn't think that people should put out albums of old, tired material (and I agree). And after hearing his VTT version of Giant Steps some years ago, I'm convinced that he should do a jazz album--but with his own inimitable style. Just wishful thinking though! It certainly would be neat, though. |
