Hi Scott. I’ve recently gotten interested in the differences amongst flatsawn, quartersawn and riftsawn woods. I’m ordering a neck and I’m not sure which one to get. Any thoughts or opinions? Thanks Scott.

I didn't know how to answer your question so I called John Suhr. He said there's no difference in strength or tone between those three types, especially after a neck has been roasted. The main differences are purely visual. He also said this is a popular topic and people like to argue about it, so I'm sure there are some folks who don't share his opinion.
