Even C Medium feels sturdier than Vintage medium. It has more shoulder I think. I like the former, but don't gel with C medium. C slim is great though for me though.

i'm sorry if these points are obvious but:

stretch, but don't overstretch, strings. i use regular bends and don't tug on the string.

keep bridge plate parallell(-ish) to body.

B if you find the 10's too floppy @ Eb.

you'd have to adjust the claw either way, but adjusting the claw/spring tension is a mere trifle.

the same neck shape can feel quite different on different guitars. depending on fret size obviously, and just the general setup. they are never 100% the same anyway.

hmm … i have a ssv in the neck pos of an alder+maple/pau ferro strat. not your typical jazz box for sure, but i do get a pretty nice faux scofield tone from the neck pup with the tone between 3 and 6, ...

i've seen roasted alder bodies with antique and/or trans finishes, so that option could perhaps be made possible.
