I was browsing the dealers, seeing what they had in stock, as well as some of the older guitars, and i stumbled upon this beauty:
That is without a doubt my favorite finish i've ever seen on a guitar. I'm sobbing here now, knowing that drips are discontinued, and i can't order one with this finish.
Ed, is there any way you know how many were made with this particular color combination? I'd like to figure my odds of ever scoring a used one.
Thanks,

Don't expect to see any more of these 'drip'-like colors. The fellas over at Tyler didn't fancy this going on, and to take the high road, JS stopped doing them.
BEAUTIFUL guitar that is btw. |

I really didnt care about stopping it. As far as I was concerned it added weight to the guitar and kind of the opposite of what we were trying to do. I did them because people ordered them. There is no way anyone could do a drip type finish and not wind up with thicker paint. We did go thru great pains to try and pick the lighter bodies for these finishes. I will come up with some thinner and just as wacky very soon, I have an idea |

Haha, nice John.
I'll hold off on ordering something until you unveil this new "idea", which i'm sure will be amazing.

Really?Tyler was the reason drip finishes were stopped?

So indeed, the guitars became heavier. We, guitar players can get so tangled into how a guitar looks that sometimes we forget that it's about how it plays than how it looks.Nevertheless,Suhr drip finishes look gorgeous!Looking forward to your next invention
