theres a suhr classic mary kay gtr on ebay with 54 suhr pickups

i didnt know JS made a 54 wind - how does it compare to teh vlp60 (which i love)

ive heard the fender 54 which i didnt like

anyone know

I tried a ash/maple Classic with V54s and found them to be more open and chimey sounding than the V60lps. Very "vintage" sounding to me. I liked them so much I have a Classic on order right now that will have the V54 set.

Dont worry, Ours dont sound anything like the new Fenders, I agree with you. Mine are more like a slightly tamed down V60LP
