Hi

I would like to know if something have changed in the sound of your suhrs after few months of playing ,
What I mean is , if the sound opened up a little like in a new speaker ,

If so what was the difference ,

Was it in some frequency ?

Was it in the feel of the guitar ?

May be after the guitar become more dry the sound become more woody ? or may be the sound stayed the same ?

Thanks

I got my Suhr Carved Top since the last christmas. I definetely think that it's getting "broken in" or "swung in"...it sounds better than brand new for me! It feels different, too!

If you ask me, it still gets better and better... Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I think it's a matter of getting used to the guitar. If I am not mistaken the wood is already dried out. And the type of wood "crystalizing" for lack of better word that happens with instruments since the 50-60s takes a lot of time to happen.

I do know that necks get worn in pretty easily, so perhaps that's a a factor also.

Even if the wood is dry it is not submitted to vibrations..Any new guitar have a break in period and will definetely sound better after a few months...

Hi

What do you mean " will definetely sound better after a few months " ?

What do you think will happen ?

I have two suhrs ,

The first one is used and have a little more bass , sparkle and attack and is 8 months old

The second one , I got few days ago and is more " mid " more fat but have less bass and sparkle and not as deep or woody as the older one but still have more " tone " and is realy amazing .

Do you think it may sound more deep and "woody" after a few months ?

It's hard to tell what really happens...I'm no wood specialist but something happens for sure...wood (and thus sound) gets less stiff..I also had an explanation where the micro pores (holes) of the wood gets cleaned by vibrations so they can generate more resonnance... well whatever it is ... Cool
Also all the hardware has to take his place and all parts may become tighter with each other .. also electronics get corroded etc...
Sure it sounds deeper and woodier after some months....if you play it Cool
