Hi

How can you describe the sound of your classic S ?

I have two alder maples and they are very different , one with crystal highs and thumping lows and has strong attack , the other one has more mids and it's a bit more fat and dark like a les paul with less attack .

both are great but very different , what is your wood combination and how can you describe the tone of your guitar ? is it fat , bright , thin , bassi , warm ... ?

I didn't know they are so different !

I have had my Alder/Maple neck Classic for about a month. I have the FL pickups in it. It is the best and most even sounding S-type guitar I've ever played. I say "most even sounding" as there is no spike anywhere in the bandwidth.

It's got great clean highs... though not quite as glassy as my Lollar Blonde equipped Custom Shop Strat. I'm ok with that as that guitar fed back a lot when I pounded on it. Not the Suhr though!

The FL bridge is also the most usable single coil bridge I've ever heard. Even sounds great with high gain, no icepick ears! Hope this helps!

I like the V60LP more then the FL , it's too mid for me and although it's a lot better it remind me the fender "Texas specials" .

It's very interesting to hear how different those guitars are from each other ,

it's like a water melon you can't know what you are going to get .

If you order 2 guitars I guess that in 95% you are going to get a great guitars but very different .

A lot depends on the guitar they are in. That being said, I find the FLs have smoother mids and not necessarily more mids. The V60LP mids seem more complex in the mids to me. That is in my guitar though...
