Hi Matt,
I have no idea. I don't think I ever received a birthdate, just a serial number. I received my serial # on DECEMBER 18TH, 2 days after I placed my order with Tone Merchents. So maybe March 18th?

hey Joe! (wait....he said, "Hey Joe"!), anyway, I spoke w/ Steve on Wednesday, and the Black Floyd came in. Soo......it's looking like assembly this week (week of Feb 28th) and then a 3 day cure period, and viola!, Suhr time again. I'd venture to guess that the chrome's should be in as well (?). Hang in there bud!

unfortunately I probably won't be seeing anything until next week (per mike and steve, it's in assembly this week and will cure for 3 days next week). Not a problem. She's gonna be worth the wait!!!  |

Joe, man oh man. Steve's head must've been spinnin' because I was doing the same thing!! That's a bummer on the chrome. I did confirm that 4305 is going into assembly NEXT week. But at least the Black unit's in house. And, +1 on what Dookie wrote. Keep the faith, it'll be worth it. Hang in there brotha!!!! |

What's the latest news on 4305?
I heard that there are at least 7 guitars stuck in limbo due to the Floyd stock problem, mine included. I'm really hoping for a March B-Day....

Howdy Joe. I do have news. Evidently 4305 will be ready on Monday.
That said, I got spanked for spreading rumour and speculation. Evidently there are/were many others who were NOT effected by what you and I are/were experiencing.
As a result of this thread, the shop was apparently deluged by callers inquiring about their Floyd-loaded guitar orders.
For that I am truly sorry.
In posting this, it was never my intent to cause panic, nor to whip up any buyer into a chaotic fury. Further, I definitely did not intend to make more work for the shop.
Again, I offer my apologies.
For the record, I have not spoken to John, Steve or Mike directly about this "panic management" fire drill. But I know that the source of this information is waaaaaay more tied into the Suhr-family than most and trust him explicitly.
I guess that the "rule of thumb" going forward will be to converse through email or PM's rather than amplifying questions concerning specific orders through the board.
And on that note, Joe, we can discuss this one offline!

Hey guys, I was curious if you guys had ever considered buying a Floyd from a retailer and supplying it to expedite the order?
I have NO idea if there was ever an availabilty issue with the Floyd, but having waited for custom built guitars on more than one occasion, I think I would have done anything to expedite the process.
I am not trying to belabor the point or inflame the original thread, just wondering if that was an option.

I asked about supplying my own Floyd, since there is one sitting in a shop down the street from me. I thought I was being over anxious and didn't mention it again, though. I assume Suhr has his supplier protocol for all of his parts, so I didn't push it. I can wait...I think...
