1-) I inserted the arm, but can't take it out... what's the trick?

2-) The shaft of the tremolo arm moves quite a bit inside the barrel, making noise. At high amp levels (and especially at high gaon settings), the noise is infernal. What adjustment is required to prevent this?

Sorry if these sound like newbie questions, I'm used to locking trems and floyds... where movement inside the shaft means it's time to replace it...

Thanks!

1. The arm has internal threads at the base. It is likely you wound it down a bit. So, spin the bar counterclockwise and gently pull the arm out. It may demand a few rotations but that should do the trick!

2. Sounds like you didn't know about the threads so you probably didn't wind the arm down enough or it was hitting the threaded shaft in the sleeve. Wind the arm-clockwise-until it is snug. Then, back it off a half to full rotation. If that doesn't do the trick the sleeve at the top has a screw that adds resistnace to the arm. You can use an Allen wrench to eliminate slack in the arm. If the arm is already tight than-I got nothing!

Good luck,
tyler

Thanks, mate, that did the trick (and gave me a "duh!" moment!). Once you know it, it's entirely intuitive... maybe I'm the first new Suhr user who was stumped!

Definitely not! Very Happy
Once you realize what's going on, it's very nice to use (my favorite trem arm attachment method).

Oh, and you ever decide to adjust the trem post height in the future, you might want to give a post here first!

I'll second the above; the Gotoh 510 bar attachment and adjustment scheme is probably the very best I've experienced for my personal requirements, between the firm landing at the bottom on the threads, coupled with the tension adjustment collar at the top.
